Description:    This is an attractive 1880s map of Paris issued by Madame Lefilleul. Centered on the Seine Rivers, it covers embastilled Paris as contained in the Thiers Wall, and its immediate vicinity, including the Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes. It reflects the transformation and modernization of Paris under Napoleon III and Georges-Eugene Haussmann. The map notes individual streets, monuments, churches, town halls, railways, gardens and palaces. This map was issued in the 1880s, before the construction of the Eiffel Tower. A list of monuments is included in the bottom left quadrant of the map. This map was engraved and printed by L. Wuhrer and Dufrenoy and was published by Madam Lefilleul (La Veuve Lefilleul) in the 1880s.

Condition:    Very good. Dissected and backed with linen. Ink markings in lower right quadrant of the map, near Gentilly.
