Description: This is a stunning panoramic view of Kobe city and Harbor, Japan. Prepared in an Art Deco style with silver border and original paper binder. Covers Kobe city, the fifth largest city in Japan and the capital of the Hyogo Prefecture. Founded in 1889, the city Kobe quickly became a prominent port city. Today it is the fourth largest container port in Japan. Maps like these began appearing in Japan around 1900 and were popular well into the 1960s and decorative ways to illustrate train and tram routes. All text in Japanese.
