1910 J. Spencer Turner Co. Nautical Advertising Piece

A rare promotional piece advertising the quality sail cloth of the J. Spencer Turner Company. The J. Spencer Turner Company, founded in 1906, was a dry goods commission business best known for its production of top notch sail cloth. The company was largely controlled by International Cotton Mills, for whom it was the sole selling agent. By 1912 it was the largest cotton goods house in the United States. This advertising piece, printed on the company's fine cotton duck, promotes the company's sail cloth and it many mills. The company was located on 17 and 73 Worth Street, New York, with branches in Chicago, London, and St. Louis.
