Alden, Edward Cox (1840 - 1912)

Edward Cox Alden (1840 - 1912) was an English publisher, printer and stationer who founded Alden and Company, Ltd. Alden began publishing Alden's Oxford Guide beginning in 1874. A year later Alden published the first editon of his 'Alden's Oxford Magazine'. Alden married Esther Beauzeville Hewlett in 1864, with whom he had twelve children.
