Richard Neil 'Dick' Bibler (September 14, 1922 - May 24, 2013) was an American artist, cartoonist, and professor, and is best remembered for his comic 'The Little Man on Campus'. Born in Elkhart, Kansas, Bibler attended the University of Kansas, where he began drawing 'The Little Man on Campus' for the University Daily Kansan around 1946. The comic was eventually syndicated to college newspapers across the country during the 1950s. He published several books of his Little Man on Campus cartoons in the 1950s and 1960s. Bibler attended Colorado State University where he earned a teaching certificate, and then went to Stanford University and obtained an M.A. so he could teach art at the college level. After graduating from Stanford, at some point he moved south to the Monterey Peninsula, where he taught art at Monterey Community College or thirty years. He met his wife Carolyn Mohr while at Colorado State who was an art student. They had three children.
