People's Liberation Army Pictorial (February 1951 - Present) is a Chinese publishing house and military pictorial magazine created for the army that is also available for public consumption. Founded in February 1951, the title was written by by Chairman Mao Zedong himself. The magazine was preceded by the Red Star Pictorial, the Jinchangji Pictorial during the Anti-Japanese War, and the North China Pictorial during the Liberation War. Beginning in 1964, the magazine was published by the People's Liberation Army General Political Department.
