Noel Berkley McGary (March 26, 1923 - October 9, 2005) was an American oceanographer and cartographer. Born in Shelley Idaho, McGary attended Montana State University, Utah State University, Idaho State University, and the University of Washington. He briefly served in the U.S. Army during World War II then began working as an oceanographic cartographer in the Department of Oceanography for the University of Washington. Many of his maps were published over the course of his career. Late in life, McGary found a passion for Japanese music and art.
