This is a rare and beautiful 1903 map of Block Island, Rhode Island published by the Passenger Department, New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroads. This is one of the few maps of this popular tourist destination that specifically focusing on Block Island. It depicts the entire island in great detail, noting private and public roads, ponds, lighthouses, etc. Parts of southern Connecticut and Rhode Island are also noted. Ferry lines in and out of the island are also identified. Numerous ships are seen sailing in the Atlantic Ocean and the Block Island Sound. Accompanying this map is a 15 page booklet or tourist guidebook of Watch Hill, Narragansett Pier and Block Island which includes important fact and tourist information as well as photographs. The map was printed by the John Polhemus printing company and published by the Passenger Department, New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroads, Boston, Massachusetts.
