Coverage embraces from Beach Road south to Bennet Causeway, with launch complexes, the Vehicle Assembly Building (labeled VAB), and the Shuttle Landing Facility identified. The programs associated with each launch complex (Apollo, Titan, Mercury, Mariner, Redstone, etc.) are listed, along with whether the complex is active, inactive, or dismantled. Other facilities, such as antenna arrays, test facilities, tracking stations, and museums, are also labeled. The 'Crawlerway' from the VAB to Launch Complex 39 is illustrated, and both launchpads of Complex 39 (which launched Apollo and the Space Shuttle) appear in detail. Four insets below the main map focus on the Cape Canaveral Industrial Ar4ea, the VAB area of Launch Complex 39, the Kennedy Space Center Industrial Area, and the Launchpad(s) at Launch Complex 39. This map was likely created and published by NASA in December 1982. Several editions were published and are well represented in OCLC. However, we have located only one other cataloged example of the present December 1982 edition, which appeared at auction in 2006.Condition
