This appealing map of Long Island was issued in 1884 by the Long Island Railroad. It depicts Long Island in full inclusive of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Long Island Sound, the southern shore of Connecticut and northern parts of Staten Island. The map shows the progress of the Long Island Railroad system, reflecting the development of the rail lines as far as Sag Harbor, Montauk and Greenport. It also notes important towns, bays, roads, harbors, beaches and other topographical details. The top right quadrant contains a table noting the mileage of the Long Island Railroad and Connections. This map is copyrighted and issued by the Long Island Railroad Company in 1884.
Condition

Very good. Minor wear and toning along original fold lines. Minor loss near fold intersections, especially near Long Beach. Minor ink mark near bottom margin.
