de Ram, Johannes (Jean de Ram)
Johannes de Ram (1648 - 1693) was a Dutch printer, engraver, publisher, and mapmaker active in Amsterdam. He was a student of famed etcher Romeyn de Hooghe (1645 - 1708). In 1682 he acquired - along with the globe factory of Johannes van Ceulen (1756 - 1715) - the surviving Blaeu globes, gores, and copperplates. He is not known to have produced an atlas, but his maps found their way into many composite atlases. After his death, his plates entered the trade where some would be acquired and kept in circulation by the Ottens firm.
