Uriah Pierson James (December 30, 1811 - February 25, 1889) was publisher, bookseller, and typefounder active in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the middle part of the 19th century. James was bornin New York. In 1831, he founded the James Book Store, 516 Main Street. Additionally, he partnered with his brother, Joseph Allen James (1807 - 1882) in 'J.A. and U.P. James Company', a stereotype foundry.
