Martin, Robert Blair
Robert Blair Martin (July 13, 1950 - December 26, 2006) was an American editor and illustrator associated with Hallmark. Blair was born in Chicago. He studied at the Wentworth Military Academy, graduating in 1968, before going on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Arizona State University (1972). He served as a captain in the U.S. Army before transitioning to civilian life as a senior illustrator at Hallmark Cards, where he specialized in humor illustrations. His work is characterized by zany perspectives with dense cartoon imagery. Much of his work was converted into puzzle format, but some, particularly his maps, were also issued as posters. He produced pictorial maps of California, Texas, and Florida. He lived most of his life in Overland Park, Kansas.
