Moharram Industrial Printing (شركة مطابع محرم الصناعية بالإسكندرية)
Moharram Industrial Printing Company (شركة مطابع محرم الصناعية بالإسكندرية; May 12, 1885 - Present) is an Egyptian printing firm founded by Khedive Mohamed Tawfik as the Egyptian Commercial Company in 1885. The firm takes its name from its original location on Alexandria's Moharram Bey Street. The firm can be considered a pioneer in introducing modern printing to Egypt and the Arab world in general, introducing advanced Western lithographic, engraving, and packaging technologies. The company was partially nationalized in accordance with the July Socialist Decrees of 1961 and became affiliated with the public sector. The company was fully nationalized in 1963, and its ownership was transferred entirely to the state. The firm continues to operate as a state-owned public business managed by the Holding Company for Chemical Industries.
