Satō Yoshisuke (佐藤義亮; February 18, 1878 – August 18, 1951) was the founder of the publishing house Shinchōsha (新潮社). After studying at the Tetsugakukan (哲学館), the predecessor to Tōyō University, he became fascinated with literature and publishing and took a job at Shūeisha (秀英舎, the predecessor to Dai Nippon Printing 大日本印刷). After working a on all aspects of publishing for Shūeisha, his literary talents were recognized and he was tasked with proofreading. Satō then struck out on his own, founding Shinseisha (新聲社) in 1896 and Shinchōsha (新潮社) in 1904. His sons and grandsons have continued as presidents of the publishing house down to the present.
