Sangen Shichibei (三間七兵衛, Sanma Sichibee)
Sangen Shichibei (三間七兵衛, Sanma Sichibee; fl. c. 1868 - 1912) was a Japanese printer and publisher active in Tokyo’s Ginza district during the Meiji period (1868 - 1912), a time of rapid modernization and industrialization of Japan’s printing and publishing industries. His name appears in the imprints (colophons) of several important cartographic and educational works, including those produced by Kishida Ginkō (岸田吟香), Hakubunkan, Yūrakusha, and other Meiji intellectuals engaged in geography, history, and Western learning.
