Charlotte Sorré (August 1932 - March 8, 2016), or Sorre unaccented, was a New York City-based painter and commercial artist best known for her drawings and paintings of animals. Sorré was born Charlotte Kjelstad in Eatonville, Washington, south of Seattle. She attended the California College of Arts and Crafts and after graduation relocated to New York City, perhaps briefly living in Europe before returning to New York permanently. In 1962, she married Lucio Mario Sorre, an Itlaian-American journalist and public relations agent, and had two children. Over time, Sorré became known as one of the great American painters of animal portraits, including thoroughbred horses and show dogs.
