Description


This is a beautiful 1871 view of the Main Depot of the Union Pacific Railroad issued by George A. Crofutt. The view illustrates the proposed depot to be located at the eastern terminus of the Union Pacific Railway Line in Omaha depicts the appearance of the proposed building upon completion. The view also includes text explaining the building materials to be used, the layout and architecture, and the dimensions of the various offices and rooms within the building. This engraving is based on the photograph furnished by the Union Pacific Railroad Company and is drawn by Mr. Linde for inclusion in Crofutt's Trans-Continental Tourist's Guide.
