This is a beautiful 1872 view of Washington, D.C., by W. H. Morrison. Centered on the Capitol, the map beautifully illustrates various important landmarks, including the Smithsonian Institute, Washington Monument, Botanical Gardens, Arlington, Howard University, State Department, etc. Beautiful illustrations of carriages, horsemen and people strolling are included in the forefront. A key listing the various landmarks shown in the map is included in the lower left and right quadrant. This map was published by W. H. Morrison and entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1872.
