This is a 1976 Dave Buffington and Joe Gohl pictorial map of Ann Arbor, Michigan.A Closer Look
Promoting both the University of Michigan and local Ann Arbor businesses, Michigan Stadium, nicknamed 'The Big House' immediately draws the viewer's attention at bottom center. Crisler Arena appears just to its right. Apart from Michigan Stadium, the University Club and the Law Quadrangle also appear, as do a handful of appear in downtown Ann Arbor while the University of Michigan's campus occupies the upper right and space along the right border. Ann Arbor's many restaurants, hotels, banks, and bars are identified by name, as are the Chamber of Commerce and the Post Office. Short captions in cursive provide some historic details, such as detail that the historic firehouse was built in 1882, or that the University President's House was built in 1840. Dave Buffington (1951 - Present) is an American commercial artist. Buffington graduated from Port Huron High School in 1969 and received an associate degree in Advertising Design from St. Clair County Community College in 1971. Then he transferred to the Art School of The Society of Arts and Crafts and earned a certificate in Advertising Design. He started his design career with Pfaff/McCoy Design in 1973 and established his own design firm in 1995. Further Details...
