Description
This is Tony Sarg's 1933 view and map of the 1933 Chicago Century of Progress World's Fair Exposition. The view is presented in two parts which were published, as here, side by side. The left side details the midway, the right side focuses on the Lagoon area of the fair and vicinity. Many of the notable sights of the fair are highlighted and drawn in profile. This includes visitors enjoying themselves on the rides, swimming in the lake, and enjoying the exhibits. There are numerous vignette illustrations ranging from the wonderful to the ridiculous, such as a visitor massaging his sore feet. The hole is rendered in Sargs whimsical style. Comes with original envelope.
