Description
A charming 1968 art-deco style pictorial map of La Jolla, San Diego, California by Priscilla 'Pat' Devore. The map is oriented slightly to the northwest and covers the hilly La Jolla promontory. The artist, Devore, has taken considerable liberty with the shape of the promontory, squaring it somewhat to make more room on the page for advertising. Business throughout La Jolla are illustrated pictorially in bright blue - suggesting that each is a paid sponsor of the map. The tap is titled, 'La Jolla the Jewel' referencing the Spanish translation (La Joya) of the community's name.
