Visit Palm Beach and Lake Okeechobee!
This is a 1963 H. Riker pictorial map of Lake Okeechobee and Palm Beach, and Palm Beach County, Florida. Coverage extends from Lakeport and Lake Hicpochee east to the Atlantic coast and from Stuart south to Boca Raton. Pictorial vignettes highlight sites, including golf courses, sports stadiums, and industrial complexes. Many are numerically identified and correspond with an index on the verso. Icons promote other sites, mostly concentrated in and around Palm Beach and West Palm Beach, park and picnic areas, shuffleboard courts, and bowling alleys. A red dashed line traces a 200-mile scenic drive around Lake Okeechobee recommended by Riker's Trip Tour Guide. Advertisements for towns, hotels, restaurants, and other local businesses appear around the central map.Verso Content
Short descriptions for each of the numerically identified vignettes are printed on the verso. A smaller map of Palm Beach and West Palm Beach occupies the center portion of the bottom half of the sheet and provides suggestions for hotels and identifies art galleries, golf courses, and special events in the area.Publication History and Census
