The Sherlock Holmes Mystery Map.
  1987 (dated)     20.625 x 26.375 in (52.3875 x 66.9925 cm)

Description

This is a 1987 Jim Wolnick and Susan Lewis pictorial map of Sherlock Holmes's adventures in London and England. The maps appear within two magnifying glasses, with London on the right and England on the left. The magnifying glasses are set on a series of illustrations depicting scenes from the books. Among these are Holmes in a fistfight with Professor Moriarty, Holmes examining a clue, and the 'Hound of the Baskervilles'. 129 locations from Doyle's novels are scattered across the two maps, with numbers marking the specific locations. An index situated below the map separates locations by book and short story, including A Study in Scarlet, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, and the Hound of the Baskervilles. Locations within London are marked with an 'L' and a dagger designates locations that cannot be confirmed.
A Wonderful Series of Literary Maps
Aaron Blake published a series of literary maps in the mid to late 1980s. Some focused on specific cities (such as New York, Paris, and Los Angeles), some on specific authors (Ernest Hemingway, Ian Fleming, Jane Austen), and others on geographic regions (the American South, Latin America). Every map is visually striking in its own way and would be a great addition to any bibliophile's collection.
