1868 Hafiz Ali Efendi Map of Europe

This is an 1868 Ottoman map of Europe by Hafiz Ali Efendi. The map is beautifully colored and covers the continent of Europe from Spain and Portugal to Russia, the Ural Mountains, and the Caucasus from east to west and from Iceland to Italy and Greece from north to south. North Africa, Turkey, the Middle East, and Russia west of the Ural Mountains are included but are uncolored and not labeled. The labels on this map are all written in Ottoman script. The map shows a nearly unified Italy and Germany is not yet unified. Finland remains a part of Russia. Crete is colored as well. This map comes from a lesser known Ottoman atlas that was published in Paris in 1868.
