A Closer Look

Unlike most placemat maps, this map does not seem to be connected with any specific restaurant. Instead, it celebrates Florida as a whole, highlighting a host of lures, ranging from historical sites, to natural wonders, to cultural draws, to pure resort tourism. A profile view of Miami Beach, with the city's iconic Art Deco architecture in the background, appears in the lower right.

Publication History and Census

This map was published by Royal in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. This is the only known example. Royal, a paper products company, remains in business.
