1975 David Pool View of Tampa Bay, Florida

A scarce 1975 pictorial view map of Tampa, Florida by David Pool. The map looks northeast on the Tampa Bay region from a fictional point high above the Gulf of Mexico. Tampa appears prominently in the foreground with St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Sarasota identified. In the background the map stretches eastward as far as Kennedy Space Center at Titusville, Orlando, Ocala, and Leesburg. Pictorial vignettes illustrate Florida flora and fauna. Marine fauna, including a mermaid and a treasure chest.

Publication History and Census

This map was drawn by D. Pool and published by Vacation Product Company of Sarasota, Florida in 1975. Print on the verso suggests this was meant to be folded and sent as a mailer. The map is dated 1975, but we have identified a copyright entry for 1976. We have found no further trace of either 'D. Pool' or 'Vacation Products.' There is no record of this view in any collection, public or private.``
