1954 Feldtmann Wool Production Map of Argentina and Uruguay

An interesting and unusual 1954 pictorial map of Argentina and Uruguay intended to promote the wool production of the Lahusen Firm. Numerous vingettes throughout illustrates aspects of Argentine life. The Lahusen wool production empire is illustrated in the form of red squares demarking the 'head office' as well as 'branches,' 'branch offices,' and 'buying agencies.' Wool production is also broken down by country and type via a table in the lower right. The map was issued for Sturenburg & Co. Inc. of Boston, the U.S. agents for Lahusen. It is signed 'Feldtmann'. While it is unclear who this is, it may be Hugo Feldtmann (1900 - 1990), a German graphic artist active from the 1930s through the 1950s. The map was printed by Wilhem Jontzen of Bremen-Lesum, Germany. The map has been attached to wooden rollers.
