This is a beautiful example of the 1786 Jean-Baptiste Map of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. It covers from Charleville-Mezieres, France to Saarbrucken, Germany, and includes parts of modern day France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Divided according to regions by color coded boundaries, it offers excellent detail throughout with rivers, national boundaries, regional boundaries, forts, and cities identified and mountains and forests beautifully rendered. This particular map represents two sheets of a larger 16 sheet map of the region. An inset in the lower left quadrant details the arrangement of the 16 sheets with each country color coded. The map was issued as sheet XV and XVI by Jean-Baptiste in 1786.
