Description

This is a 1945 Jeffrey Victor and Neel Bate pictorial fantasy map of Jimmy and Sally’s adventures in Mother Goose Land.
From Little Miss Muffet to Mother Goose
The map narrates Jimmy and Sally’s journey through Mother Goose Land, where they meet favorite nursery rhyme characters. First, they visit Little Miss Muffet and a smiling spider. Then Humpty-Dumpty, looking very dapper in a suit sitting on his wall, followed by Little Bo Peep, who is offering a reward of 100 lollipops for the return of her sheep. Mary, Mary Quite Contrary, and Little Jack Horner (who is sitting in a corner) come next, along with the family who lived in a shoe and Little Boy Blue. Jack and Jill are present as well, although they are, of course, falling down the hill. And last but not least is Mother Goose herself, portrayed riding on her goose, waving goodbye to Jimmy and Sally.
