Description
This is an extremely rare 1931 WenYu Press of Suzhou city map or plan of Soochow (Suzhou), China. The map depicts the center of Suzhou surrounded by the Waicheng River. Highly detailed, myriad streets throughout the city are labeled, as are several districts. Suzhou was the cradler of Wu Culture and is today one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in China. A group of photographs, situated just below the key, highlight tourist sites around the city. All text on the map is in Chinese, except for the map's title and key, which are bilingual.
Condition
Good. Verso reinforcement to left side. Closed tears extending 1.5 inches, 2 inches, and 2.5 inches professionally repaired on verso. Text in Chinese and English on verso.
