Cartographers
The Geographicus Rare Antique Maps biographical dictionary of cartographers is a growing list of mapmakers covering from the 3rd through the 20th centuries. There are currently more than 3000 biographies present — many of which are the only studies of these individuals available anywhere. We typically add 10–15 additional cartographers each week. While there are thousands of cartographers yet to be added, most major cartographers active between the 17th and the mid-20th century are here biographized. Where we have access to images, these are added. In addition, examples of each cartographer’s works are represented in high resolution.
