Description
This is a c. 1874 Alexander Wojeikof map of the World detailing rain distribution. Wojeikof designates nine different zones, including Subtropical Rains, Equatorial Rains, and Tropical Rains, all of which are color coded. Two monsoon regions, the Asian Monsoon and the Australian Monsoon, appear. Arid regions, the world's deserts, are highlighted in yellow. By far the most dominant climate is labeled as 'Rains at all Seasons of the Year', which covers over half of the Northern Hemisphere.
