Guérard, Nicolas (sold)
Nicolas Guérard (1648-1719) was a French engraver and etcher active in Paris at the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th. Nothing is known of his background or education. He produced the cartouches for several mapmakers, including De Fer, De l'Isle and Nolin. His son Nicolas Junior (dates unknown) continued in the family trade, working as late as 1750.
