Sagano Hikotarō (sold) (嵯峨野彦太郎)
Sagano Hikotarō (嵯峨野彦太郎; fl. c. 1886 - 1928) was a dynamic cartographer of the Meiji and Taisho eras who made over one hundred maps in his career, mostly dealing with different cities and regions of Japan, especially Tokyo and Hokkaido, but he also made at least two maps of China.

This is a rare 1895 Sagano Hikotarō map of Tokyo at the height of the Meiji Era. It was produced soon after a bewildering series of administrative reforms and was designed as a guide for the perplexed, showing Tokyo neighborhoods under the new system.
